The Moose Family Fraternity, Patchogue Lodge 518, held a fundraiser to benefit the Patchogue-Medford Youth Soccer League Rebels.  The fundraiser was held on March 10, 2012, and a check for over $3,000 was presented to the team on March 15, 2012.  The evening's fun was a night-at-the-races, which included a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction.  The team and the Moose thank the local businesses that donated items for the Chinese auction.  The team was thrilled with the success of the fundraiser, and was very appreciative of the Moose's community service efforts.  The Moose assists the community with many service projects throughout the year, including fundraisers such as the one that was held for the soccer team.  For more information about the Moose, please visit www.moosefamilyfraternity.org.

Hello My Fellow Brothers and Sisters,

It is hard to believe this is the last newsletter of the Governor’s Year.  When the Board of Officers started just ten short months ago, the Officers vowed to recommit this Lodge to the Moose Mission thereby rejuvenating the Lodge, and restoring the Lodge as a Pillar of the Pat-Med Community.  I’m happy to announce they have delivered on their promise.  I’m proud of what this Board of Officers has accomplished, and want to thank each of the Officers for their tenacity, hard work, and dedication to the Moose Mission, this Lodge, and our wonderful community.  Alright, that’s enough kudos, now get back to work.  It’s the home stretch and we need to finish our work.

Medford, NY - On August 29th Caitlin Zaugg was diagnosed with Osteo Genic Sarcoma (a pediatric bone cancer) that affects children male and female usually between the ages of 11 and 16, but have been known to be younger and as old as mid 40's. To assist the family with some of the unexpected financial burdens, on February 11, 2012, the Moose Family Fraternity held a fundraiser for Caitlin Zaugg.  Through the kindness and generosity of volunteers, donators, and event participants, the Moose Family Fraternity was able to collect in excess of $6,500 for Caitlin.  Leo Kremer, Governor of the Moose Family Fraternity Patchogue-Medford Family Center 518, stated "The Pat-Med Community never ceases to amaze me. The community consistently pulls together to aid and assist a community member in need.  That is what community is all about!".  The Moose Family Fraternity will continue to collect donations through their website at http://moosefamilyfraternity.org.
